Very useful advices!

I had writers who insisted to deliver articles which were NOT what I asked (usually, those were writers from India - sorry to say). I explained what I want and they still delivered something else...I could have paid them 100$/article and they still would deliver crap...

A good a reliable writer is hard to find...even if you are willing to pay more.

These are all very good guidelines so thanks for the insight but I'm curious how anyone can expect a 500 word quality article for only $10. Even for my blog which is inane, uncategorized babble, 500 words takes me a minimum of an hour to write, 24 hours to stew and at least another hour in further revisions (sometimes up to 10 revisions) and finally publish.

On average any article I write takes between 2 - 4 hours work so $10 is not a good ROI where I'm concerned. If I have to research the topic or cross link to existing articles/definitions then that time can safely double.

Of course I'm no pro but I do try to write for my audience and personalize the articles somewhat to reflect my style/personality.

The tips that you posted are great! While I still say you get what you pay for you can get a quality article of 500 words or so for $10 written by American writers who actually do understand the need to proofread. I personally can write a quality article with research in a decent amount of time to make the $10 worth my wild. Have I made more for my work? Yes I have. Have I charged less? Again yes I have but that was when I first started out.

Being a writer I stand behind my work whether I am charging $10 or $30 for the article. If I agree to a certain payment amount I feel I should product quality work no matter what because I agreed to that payment amount.

Just my little .02 on the subject

Hi Cody,

I can probably help you with your fax overview project.

And to my friend who posted this...at least you know what you want. For some people quality is harder to produce than it is with other people. For me, I have grammar and spelling OCD so it comes naturally.

Anyway, I can't send PMs...but...if you guys want my help you can email me. N.Braddock@Gmail.com

Thanks for sharing =)

What you pay is what you get. If you wanted quality in anything you buy, you'd choose one that has a good name and reputation--which often goes with a high price. These tips are useful for writers though. Thanks!

That's a good point, it does take time to write something, no matter how much quality you think it has.

I think the hardest part for someone like me who has thought about doing article writing is finding a good starting price. I guess I need to do more research on what other writers started out with.
