I have written material that I wish to be made into an ebook. Does anyone know how to create ebooks in .pdf format and to make them secure so no one can share them?

Is there software to do this or instructions? What is the best way or best software to use for this?

I just make my first pdf ebook using cutepdf. It is free but of course if you want some security features with your ebook, I think you have to buy some professional software.

currently my plan is just launch my ebook, make some money then only buy those software.

Just use openoffice. With it, you can export your document to PDF.

If you start to get serious, you'll want to start writing in DOCBOOK format and generate PDF's from that. Google'ing docbook will get you all you need to know.
