I spent quite some time trying to think of a topic to built a site around, but this is what i came up with [See Sig].

I know that there are a million other resources on the web on this topic, but I was hoping to answer all the questions that I had a hard time finding on google when i was first learning these topics. I only started writing the articles this week so there are very few, but if i get ANY good responses i'll write piles more.

What do you think? The content is no good, Over done, Poorly Written? Not going anywhere? Comments or suggestions?

I predict i will get major flamming for writing crappy content :s

I like the idea but it looks like you could have a very long term project there!

I don't believe anything is really a waste of time. If you enjoy what you are doing, then it is not a waste of time. However, I do believe that your articles are very choppy. The content is there and the information is there, but I see so many comma splices, fragment sentences, run ons and all of these that draw my attention more than the content. That might be because I am insane with grammar, but it is important for a level of professionalism. My advice is to either:

A) Read through them and really proof them for any errors.
B) Hire someone to read through your articles and proof them.

Option A is obviously cheaper, but Option B might allow for mistakes you skip over to be found. Your mind mentally memorizes what you write and it just thinks that it is right. That's why when writing a paper, it's better to keep it to the side for a few days and then come back to it and proof it. Anyways...Option A is cheaper, but Option B, chances are, is more reliable.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the input.!

I kind of threw my first few articles together in a day, just to see if I could get traffic in this niche. I do plan on rewriting my articles, with help from a few friends (english major's).

My question really is,
a) do i have anything to offer here, would anyone benifit from my articles?
b) will i be succesfull making money advertising with this topic?

To be honest, I didn't find a reason to read past the first sentance. The content is a bit offputting. You need to be more assertive in your text.. I.E. - It doesn't matter how new you are to this side of it all, you don't need to tell others this fact. It dents the credability of the site somewhat.

I don't like being horrible but this aint my type of site. I hope you can take whatever has been said and make it work for you dude.

All the best.

Yea good point and I agree now that I read it again, my writing is absolutely terrible. So again poorly written content?
Still curious if anyone thinks if I have content that anyone would be interested in (Given that it was written better).

Announcing on the homepage that you don't know what you're doing is shooting yourself in the foot. I like the idea, but why not go for a blog format since it's going to be a journal, and come from a different angle like "learn with me" rather than "I've not got a clue but I'm going to teach you anyway"?

Good idea, but no clear intent on what you are telling us. Be clear, segment your market, understand who you want to write to..Unless you have a funny video or can dance very badly (and we can see it) you maybe going down the wrong path

You may like to check out sites offering similar content. Do a quick Google check and measure your site against those on the 1st page of Google search. Those sites are there for a good reason, and it would help for you to model your site after them, then make it better.

The industry-wide feeling seems to be that nerd/geek/IT Web surfers don't click on ads as much as other surfers. So while you might have find a niche -- I'm not sure about that -- your CTRs might be below average.

You seriously need to hire a proof-reader.

Though generating AdSense from writing articles is not efficient, you can try sell WAMP related products to your audience. But a content-based project is a long-term project - have some patience before you can generate any revenue.

If anything, you can offer your consultation services on site topics for your readers after you have about 300-500 articles.

I say don't give up. You have a very huge niche your in right now and I'd say that the site is good but lacking in alot of content. Why not offer a rss feed? Or maybe adding some headlines from other popular sites and then also offering your articles as well.

I better design could be in order too.

You might have a good niche of PHP + MSSQL. I haven't seen any sites out there that focus on that. But then again, I haven't heard of any programmer using a MSSQL database with PHP to begin with. :P

As for the proof-reading - read the article out loud and you will notice more mistakes.

It's obviously an important topic, but are you just going to keep posting articles or are articles/discussions going to be community generated as well? It certainly helps if you let the community contribute too.
