How long should an eBook be?

I'm at 6,000 words currently, and I think i can get it to 10,000 words after I cover all my chosen topics. Seeing as printed books are like 100,000+ words I'm wondering if mine is too short. Then again I am focusing on a small niche (Azoogle Ads) so does that make it's shortness justifiable?

For an eBook, I wouldn't worry so much about length as I would about quality of your material. If you're saying something new, exciting, and/or useful... it won't matter how long your book is.

10,000 words should be adequate, I believe.

I'm fairly sure I got the quality, just don't want it to be seen as an "Extended Article" or a book that users look at once and forget about

I would aim for at least 25 pages, then it is fine.
Have chapters and pictures too - makes them more readable and takes up space.

50,000 words, double spaced with a complete bibliography. Ah no, that's for a thesis...

It does depend rather on the topic:
For my eBook "This coming Saturday's Lotto Numbers" one line was enough :clown:

Seriously though, I've bought a few eBooks from so called experts - and got my money back because they weren't worth the time to download, never mind the (oh so typical) $97 price tag...

For an eBook, I'd say a general answer is around 100 pages with plenty of screengrabs, charts, images padding it out. Naturally it needs to be carefully balanced, formatted, appropriate and beyond all else accurate.

hmmm, thats made me think - I might lower the price tag on my eBook - I was aiming for $47, but $27 may be a little fairer as it's a small(ish) subject.

Honestly.. just make sure teh eBook contains quality material.. If you could get straight to the point 10 pages would be good enough.. I honestly, prefer all the junk but the stuff in between the lines. That tells me everything I need to know.

It would totally depend on the topic and what your goal is. Is it just to build demand for another book or upsell a service? Or is it an AUTHORITATIVE guide to a particular activity? If it's purpose is to upsell, I'd go with a shorter ebook.

Just make sure every word counts and there aren't passages that can be cut and length will not matter.
