Do you write for a living? How active is writing a part of your life? Do you get paid to write a lot?

Just wondering how many of our users partake in these types of things

Yes, I write for a living. Spanish business articles. Been doing it for the past 4 months. Currently writing average of 4 to 5 exclusive content. Can be found all over the Internet.

My strategy is different. I do not get paid to write. I get traffic in exchange of my exclusive writing. It helps me because i monetize, big time, when my weekly business newsletter comes out.

Writing for money is taking up more and more of my time, I only recently started selling my writing for money and it's nice because most of my websites can chug along nicely without me, and as I have been writing for the web for years, writing for others is easy.

I am positioning myself at the quality end of the market, which is a lot more satisfying than writing. I write stuff with the intention of getting the article inbound links. Writing only for keyword stuffing is all well and good, but getting articles linked to can be valuable.

How much is an article worth if it gets Dugg?

Hi to all writers

I have only begin to write for SEO topics recently (part-time). Furthermore, I only managed to write one article every two weeks.. Looks like I have to sit down and write more often

I love to write, as all of you know. I have been writing for about 9 years now and enjoy it very much.

I write for my blog, and have been doing so steadily for about 3.5 months now. It's definitely been an interesting process, but I've learned a lot.

Writting 2-3 375+ word articles a day is a great exercise in writing. If you blog, you have a headstart on everyone else. That is, unless you start to write in cryptic IM speak 1337-speak. Then, your writing skills aren't really improving.

The only writing I do is Photoshop tutorials (which are always an open market), or writing the copy for my own sites. I do write short stories for fun, does that count :P

I have written for a living. I used to (briefly) write a humor column for Maximum PC magazine, and at a few times in my life I have served in an editorial capacity for computer/video game websites.

Right now I only write for myself (and for my websites). I'm also the Editor-in-Chief of SitePoint's Community Crier newsletter--but that's a volunteer gig.

Hi

I started off writing articles and sales letters via Rent-A-Coder and was making
some decent money off it. However, I soon realised that it was more beneficial
to me to use my writing skill to produce content for my own websites and for my own
ebooks.

A single article on a page with AdSense ads could earn me much more over the
course of a few weeks or months than I could ever charge for it via Rent-A-Coder.
When you add to that the revenue available through selling an ebook it soon outweighs
the potential earnings through writing for others.

Much as I'd like to charge $25 for a 500 word article on RAC, I just can't do it when
there are people prepared to charge only $2 for the same article. There's just no way
that I can justify selling my valuable time that cheaply.

I do occasionally still do a bit of article or sales letter writing for other people though
but only if the price is right.

Best Regards

No, I don't write for a living because I'm terrible at it. I have to write a few things here and there for my websites but it's nothing major. I guess if putting them on my site and getting ad clicks, then yes, I kinda get paid for writing :P

I've been a magazine editor and am now freelancing. I firmly believe writing is a muscle and the more you work it the better (and easier) it gets.

Yes, I get paid to write: it's my main source of income. I'm a ghostwriter, editor and blogger. I've written blogposts for myself and others, have co-authored two books, edited several and write press releases, articles, book queries, website copies, book reviews, corporate bios, etc.
