Hey there all. Now I am not trying to freeload off of anyone. I am a soon to be college student who isn't making THAT much off of the internet right now but I hope to be soon. I do however need a small website for my work so that I can post prices for my content, what I do, and quotes, etc. It shouldn't be too much work for experienced web designers, and I am not looking for the greatest design in the world, just something that will appeal to the audience.
If anyone could help me out then I could perhaps write some content for you, unless I get some fast cash within the next couple days.
How long would a small site like this take.. Remember I don't need anything advanced, just something that will show people what I do and how much it is, but also be professional enough so they don't run away.
You could probably get ahold of a free site template to get you started.
More importantly, if you are writing content for any sites, keep your contacts listed, and keep up with where your work is. That way you have references.
Posting at places like this can be just as valuable to you as a website when starting off. If you offer article writing, post it in the buy/sell occasionally here and other places and build some solid I-Trader ratings.

1) You can get a free blogspot or wordpress blog, including design and content management system e.g. post-editor and uploader...
blogger.com wordpress[.org]? this also gives you free hosting.
2) You're welcome to check out my site flip blog for a site that's got pages for about, newsletter, archives, etc. all neatly set up for free.
I'm no design expert, but I'd say you'd be fine downloading a free custom template for either blog platform. they're plentiful and can look pretty spiffy (see my slightly jazzed up city seo blog in the sig for a hot blogger one).
also, the advantage with a free blogger template is that google owns blogger ... so your blog template comes more or less pre-optimized. if you do buy one, ask the designer what they know about building a SEO friendly design.
