Creating an ebook?

Hi,
I've seen a lot of ebooks about setting up sites, SEO, generating traffic and so on. I was wondering if anyone here has any experience about creating such ebooks?
My techniques for generating income from adverts etc seems to be pretty effective and no one else seems to have picked up on it in these books - they just keep regurgitating the same old "write great articles!" classic bit of advice that is passed around all over the place.
Anyone got any general ideas about ebooks? Like format (I guess PDF?), suggested style, length, places to sell?
Thanks!
Matt

Well, I never tried to sell a book on SEO but I have helped a friend creating a game book.
The best advices I can give you regarding the publishing are:
1) Keep it printer friendly. People love the fact that they can read it eveywhere.
2) Sell it yourself. There's nothing like a home paypal driven checkout script. You can track all your stuff and you don't have to pay any commissions to anyone :P

Yeah, well, nothing's perfect, you know.
I think it's the best rentability rate (don't think that's the good term but anyway) you can have.

I've created an ebook for forex trading and sold it on ebay plenty of times. Just make sure you are creating niche material and it isnt copy-n-paste content. My ebook was a very personal and personal opinionated one and did very well, i stopped selling it due to work schedules and not being able to support the support after the ebook sales.

SEO: I can't say I've tried GC. If it's any good, it might be a good alternative to Paypal, yes.
Lenny: Yes, eBay too. But I don't think I would buy a pdf on eBay. Maybe it's just me but, there's too many rip-off on that thing

I'm glad you had success with eBay, dude. What I said was that I, personally, would not buy an ebook on eBay.
Now I know there's honest people there, as well as rip-offs

i would distribute via clickbank. I know they charge commission, but you get a ton of affiliate sites selling your book as well, which can't hurt. Just price accordingly

Password protect your PDF. While this won't completely prevent piracy, it is a deterrent and one that I've used successfully in the past with my ebooks.

why not write a free 10 page ebook and give it away free when people sign up for a mailing list. That way you give them something and get something in return that you can market to occationally.

Hi there, I have written an Ebook on Earning Money Online but I haven't marketed it like you know... really market it. After almost a year of selling it, I still receive a few sales each day. I must admit though that I've devoted sweat and blood in writing it. I am planning to rewrite it actually and offer it at a very affordable price-- I don't want to offer an extortionate price for a valuable information because I personally know how it feels to not be able to afford something that you really want.

ive sold many book on ebay in the past, thats before i discovered adsense though,
ebay is great for ebooks, because people dont seem to search too much after they have found something with their keywords in.
worth a try
