And I don't mean to knock Mashable. It's just that quality isn't in their business model. They aim for quantity. They put out as much content as they can, which attracts more people and they sell more advertising. Some people are happy getting quick bits of information and so it works for them.
I just don't see where writer's block would enter into it unless you're pushing for quality. If you are pushing for quality I do think you can make money, but you have to be thinking of the quality first. That's why the money follows. If you start thinking money before quality then quality suffers.
