What do you mean by "the English file"? You want to have a US keyboard or you want to have all the menus in English?

From my experience with my computer, XP doesn't really allow you to change languages easily. There should be a tutorial for it on Microsoft's support site. What you'll eventually need them to provide you with is a language pack.

If that doesn't work, how about trading XP cd's (Heading to Deutschland for university coming up next semester) =P

I think the cleanest way to do it is to install the English version, especially if you don't need to have a German Windows.

Get the a replacement disk or use an existing disk of the same type format and install the English and use the license key on the German version for the English XP.

Or call support for your computer or MICROSOFT.
