Got a computer that can't connect to the net without first installing a new driver.
But the driver won't install unless I have service pack 2.

Can't download service pack 2 on my other computer because it's already running SP2.
And microsoft recognizes this when I attempt to download it and says...
you are already using SP2.

Buy another network card, a cheapy with drivers preloaded in windows.

Simply download the sp2 version for enterprise.
It's a single package that contain everything, opposed as the personnal version which connect to a server to check which parts to download

You could also have tried to ask Microsoft to send you a copy of a CD with SP2. Its free with every windows serial n° and i personally did it just to have them because its easier when you do a format than waiting for the download to be finished.

I know this problem was already solved, i just post this message for the one who dont have the possibilitie to download it.

yeah ^^ first they said.. "sir you don't need the disc, you can just restore from last system backup" and I just said "reformat" and he responds "what is your address sir?"

check internet connections or check if your using legitimate windows xp copy.

haha i know what u mean i hate that luckly i had it on disc which came free with the XP magazine, when mum used to get it (i have a stack of cases of discs with stupid pointless software on now ¬.¬) now im on Vista

Download the the driver to a flash drive,cd-r,dvd+/-R or RW, MP3 Player etc so that you can get the driver from another computer if you don't have another computer maybe a friend does.
