I use AVG anti-virus the free edition one... I used it here in my internet shop... But I don't think it safe.... Do you guys know any free anti-virus? Is avast for free?, safe? updated?
All antivirus product offer free trial for one month after which you have to buy the product. I am afraid you will not get any free antivirus software for free. Ofcourse they scan your computer for free which is useless until you have the software installed on your machine

I haven't used any anti-virus protection for 3 years.. It slows my system. I have everything completely backed up, so there's no need for it in my opinion.
Well last month i got a virus called "dl.exe" an it was my of a worm as the description says after researching it on google, anyways this virus/worm screwed up the whole pc i reformated 4 times an it still didnt go away cause it infects all files an spreads so i basically broke down an tried one last thing i installed panda antivirus 2008, an it fixed the problem after the scan ran for acouple hours so i highly recommend Panda Antivirus, an if someone reffers to norton as the one to use i totally disagree as they have way to many addons with there software an it takes a miracle to get it all uninstalled finally.
My vote goes for ClamWin. Very light weight and incredibly reliable. Just remember to schedule a time to scan or scan potential trouble files because it doesn't use active scanning, which is why it is not a resource hog like most of the other ones.

That doesn't really make sense, unless you have a recovery partition and disabled the protection software and it got infected...
Try to buy a good antivirus instead of using a free garbage... there is no reason that people do research for free.. make updates for free... so you dont know your free bundle of antivirus have how many hacking tools in it... buy a Macafee or Norton instead...
i would suggest kaspersky anti virus they have a free edition but sometimes it's annoying cause the alert just pop and pop out, AVG is good too doesn't eat a lot of disk space and updates regularly.
