Which Anti Virus Should I Use?

I use AVG Paid on my Windows PC which isn't bad. If I had to renew my AV right now (I don't because its a 2 year license), I think I would choose Kaspersky or NOD32, leaning towards Kaspersky. NOD32 is great at finding new viruses in the wild because of its advanced heuristics (it looks for suspicious behaviour, rather than matching a definition update with a virus), but it falls down on definitions. This is Kaspersky's strength is its quick definitions releases. Don't just take my word for it:

only used mcafee and norton because one came with the lap top one came with the pc.

My avast doesnt run out till september 2012, i have a long time to go. I belive that you can just re-download a new registration code for the free version.

I dont know if this is allowed here and if it is im sorry admins, please dont ban me, I'm sure i have a spare (working) avast pro serial from a while back that i could give to you for a very small fee.

Thats just a last resort if you prefer to use avast than somthing else

Hi,

I would highly recommend Norton Antivirus 2007, excellent software and good support. Although I would not recommend running if on a PC with less that

512 mb RAM @ 337 mhz
A Single Core 2.80GHz Processor

I've never liked Norton. It's update process is unnecessarily complicated and slow and its not the most effective of the antiviruses either.

I actually did some SEO work for NOD32.. I would like to give them a try and ive seen them being used by a few friends. I also heard someone mention that it doesnt use much computer resources.. Thats a big plus for me.

i use avast.. ots pretty good..
but
on my work computer. its just avg .. ive been looking for an antivirus
that doesnt disrupt my work.. on my computer speed..

I use zonealarm antivirus suite, my personal favorite for the most control and ease of use/install.

My opinion is that it is up to the user which software to use, whether you want to pay or not, have specific protection for one thing or not.

I had very bad experiences with Norton, so my vote goes to NOD32.
Second best option would be Kaspersky.

You shouldn't use 2 antiviruses at the same time - they conflict with each other and can cause crashes. I had 2 working at the same time once believing that if one missed something, the other would pick it up, but a techy guy said I shouldn't do it cause it was causing my system to slow down and crash, and when I removed one, it was working normally (well for a Windows PC anyway).

Oh yes..i had Norton and installed Kaspersky before i unistalled first one...I think then the party started in my computer...He started to choke, and system needed 25 minutes from restart to recover from restart. Whole windows choked untill i removed one antivirus (Norton), and then everything was back to normal..

i have found that norton was not really good, i have found that Avast is really good, it found some viruses and one trojan that others could not find, i did do some research on AV programs for college the ones i choose to do are
1. Zone alarm
2. Kaspersky
3. Norton
4. AVG
5. Avast
to be honest they are all good besides norton, but i have found Avast to be good,

Use avast or NOD 32. I have good experience with avast. I have been using avast for 5 months now and I have not got any nasty viruses. My friend uses NOD 32 and he says it's better than my avast.
