Hey,

Lately I've been playing and designing graphic intensive games. My 512 MB PC5400 667MHz, 3.2 GHz Celeron D, EVGA GeForce MX 4000 128 DDR PCI Video, integrated sound, Windows XP Pro, Acer machine just isn't doing the cut. I love it really. It has served me well but it's time to upgrade. So I've started to save up money and if I budget right get a $3,000 computer by the end of 2007. This is a lot of money for someone on a small salary so I really need to make sure to that this will all work and none of the components will end up frying each other wasting the entire $3,000. I've heard a few times about power supplies zapping the motherboard and killing almost all compontents. So me being the hardware not know it all I am I'm scared of loosing something like that. Here's my setup -

- Apevia Black X-Cruiser Case ATX Mid-Tower Case
- Asus P5K3 Deluxe WiFi Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard and an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHz Socket 775 OEM Processor
- Corsair XMS3 2048MB Dual Channel PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB)
- EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX / 768MB GDDR3 / SLI Ready / PCI Express / Dual DVI / HDTV / Video Card
- Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard
- Western Digital / Caviar SE16 / 500GB / 7200 / 16MB / SATA-300 / OEM / Hard Drive
- Apevia / Iceberg / 680-Watt / ATX / Dual 80mm Fan / 20/24 Pin / SLI-Ready / SATA-Ready / Blue / Power Supply
- Sceptre X23WG1080p 23" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 8ms, 1000:1, WXGA+ 1440x900, DVI, Built-In Speakers
- Lite-On Super-Multi LH20A1H Lightscribe DVD Burner - 20x DVD±R Burn, 16x DVD±R Read, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 8x DVD±R DL, 12x DVD-RAM, Internal, Black-Beige
- ThermalTake Smart Blue 80mm LED Case Fan Blue

Will this all work together?
I know it's a lot to swallow but if any hardware experts have enough time please do let me know. Even if you're not a hardware expert let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Hi Matt (thats my sons name)

After checking out all that hardware I was thinking why one would need such a monster machine just for gaming, its your money and thats fine but geez.

Anyway, all those components will work with each other and if you still want to buy the whole pc you might want to consider shopping for the parts as companies vary greatly in price, a brilliant guide for computer hardware is www.pricewatch.com they show comparitive prices on hardware and you can buy the hardware for very cheap through that website, should save you quite a bit of money.

Hope that helps,

Shaun
