I despise all of Office 2K7. Personally I use Outlook 2K3 with no plans to change until they no longer offer support for it. I don't just use it for email. I use the calendar extensively to keep track of my day job, small business, hubby's business, kids schedules & church committee meetings. With all four of us going in different directions every day of the week I think I would loose my mind if I couldn't share the calendar from home - to cell phone - to work calendar!!

My favorite email client is the PortableApps version of Thunderbird running on a memory-stick. This lets me switch between different machines and different OSs and still access the same emails.

the search feature on thuinderbird is pretty good. It displays the emails as you are typing what you want to search for.

I'm a Thunderbird user as well. It's always worked well for me and I've never really used another email client long enough to make an honest comparison.

I do like how you can extend T-Bird in the same way you can Firefox. Not as many extensions for it, but a few that I've added and liked.

I was an Outlook junkie for years, but I made the switch to Thunderbird about 6 months ago. I have been very impressed with its Junk Mail filters and I actually like the Contacts management.

I saw someone mention easy calendar integration with Thunderbird -- I would love to hear more about that. Although I will say that I am an avid user of Google Calendar.

Now that being said, I think that GMail remains the best email interface that I have ever seen... but I answered under the assumption that we were speaking about thick clients.

Have fun and eat chicken.

Used to use Thunderbird, but found gmail to be muh nicer, and using a desktop and laptop as much as eachother made a webbased the way to go.

I'm a big fan of Thunderbird. I forgot what made me shift from Outlook (I think I had problems sending out email) and Thunderbird handled it without problems.

My friends have a cool startup called NutshellMail that allows you to manage all your email from a single inbox. It's pretty cool, though it's more of a service and not a client.

Also, when I can (and in most cases, I do), I have Google Apps for my domain(s) set up. So I have a bunch of tabs open with my different "Gmail" accounts. Honestly, I don't use an email "client" anymore unless you count my browser as a client.

I don't think I ever used Outlook. I just went straight to Thunderbird. I have it pull in all my email accounts including Gmail. I know it's not the Google way, but I like being able to organize my email with folders and I like not having to sign into Google.

I have an old Yahoo email account which I can't pull in to Thunderbird, which is why I don't check it all that often anymore.
