Hi
Can anyone help me please? I have recently been hit by trojan.peacomm which Norton zapped but it did some damage first. My pc is connected to three printers and now doesn't recognise any of them. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall but keep getting the message "remote procedure call failed". My PC is a HP Pavilion and I run on windows xp.
My knowledge of computing is very limited so please keep it simple!
I have downloaded and subscribed to registry mechanic as I understood the trojan disrupted the registry but no joy.
I am thinking that I may have to do a complete restore or recovery and I have most of my work on backup disc but am worried about email.
Take a look in Administrative tools, services, scroll down to Remote procedure call (rpc) and make sure it is on started and automatic. If not start it again.

Hi
Thank you for responding.
I have carried out your suggestions tomsyf and changed the rpc call to automatic and started. I then shut down the pc and restarted. The hardware wizard still cannot connect the printers and I get a message "RPC Server is not available" I scrolled down the same list but cannot see a RPC Server?
Hi LadynRed - I looked for the line to delete - but it wasn't there - do you think that Norton already deleted it for me?
