I am trying to set up a wireless net connection in my home through a wireless router. I have connected the router with the modem cable which is providing me the net connection. Then I have set up the router to work with my PC. I have set up the wireless network also . But the problem is when I am taking out the chord which is connecting my PC with the router the wireless network gets disconnected and even if I connect it throuh the wire then also it is not connecting to the net saying connecting........... What may be solution of this problem?

netpal, it could be about a million things.

What is the IP address of your router?
What is the IP address of your machine when you plug in the Ethernet cable to the router?
What is the cable modem IP address?
Have you got it set up correctly (most cable modems assign IPs through DHCP, so that should be all you need)?
What happens when you plug in the Ethernet wire directly to the modem and bypass the router?

Basically, just go through your various troubleshooting steps (most of which will be outlined in the router manual.) 99.9% of problems are there.

Adam is right in that it can be a lot of different things, but if you swear you set everything up right you may just need to power down the cable box and power it back up. Just unplug it and wait maybe 20 seconds.

Many cable connections reuquire the power down/up with the router connected to the network before assigning the router with an IP address.

Try disabling your DHCP in the router and assign static IP's to your PC's
see if that works
