How funny is it only a few weeks after its release and pirates have cracked the business version of vista , most secure version of windows yer right lol

Chad, there are two major flaws with that viewpoint:

1) The beta version was released to the public well before the final.

2) Microsoft has long been a target for hackers. It's bound to happen. It's just the way that it is. When you're #1, people target you.

Also any new software is likely to have bugs. In time Microsoft will probably fix some holes in Vista. It's part of the reason why I generally wouldn't upgrade to a new OS the moment it's released. I'd sooner wait a few months for the initial bigs to be worked out.

As far as security is concerned there is no such thing as something that is 100% secure. Just never going to happen. No one has enough time or money to secure every possible hole in a system and even if they could there's no way you can know in advance all the ways a system can be exploited.

You have to give Vista time before knowing how good or bad it may be. All new software has bugs. And an OS is some pretty big software. I'm not a big rah rah Microsoft person at all. I can list plenty of things I don't like about their products and their business practices, but I don't think it's fair to judge a peice of software that's not even completely available for public consumption yet.

I think it was Jim Allchin who mentioned there might not be a need for antivirus in Vista.

In a few months I may be with in complaining about Vista not being secure, but I think you have to give Microsoft a little time before making judgements about it. It's normal for any new software to be buggy.
