Hi folks,
My fren has got win 98 OS.
C drive is corrupted.
He is trying to repair it ....can someone tell me How to repair it?
Can we do defragment in win 98?

You might want to find a low-level format utility from your drive's manufature's website. It'll write 0s to the harddrive, and fix the bad sectors. But all your data will be deleted :S

I had to reformat my drive when I sold my old computer. I have kept the information as a word doc. on my new machine. If you would like a copy e-mail or PM me with your e-mail address and I will forward it to you.

I'd recommend reinstalling if possible, it will probably fix any other problems he might of had, and will give it a fresh clean start. However, if you lost the CD, or have no way to back up data, then you'll have to fix the corrupt drive. Another solution to backing up just the data, is to boot into a linux distrobution , like puppy OS.
