I've included an attachement of what this looks like for your reference. What is happening is randomly when I load up a web page in either firefox or IE these ad's show up on the right hand side of the screen and follow the page down. I know they are not part of the content as is evident by where they show up, the picture is from my online college course's where they never put ad's.

Does anyone recognize this particular spyware and can you suggest a way to get rid of it? I have tried scanning with microsofts spyware software (mostly because it's free) and that did not pick it up.

Try AdAware and Spybot S&D. If worst comes to worst, you can post a HijackThis log and see if anyone can spot anything.

Nope, no luck with Spybot either. I'll attach my hijackthis log here and at a specialty forum. Thanks for your help Chris.

webroot found the same old stuff as all the others only it wanted me to subscribe in order to remove them, that I don't like. Either way, I have not received any responses from anyone over at the other forum I tried. I am getting close to just reformatting.

a couple of sugestions..

is there a website called ring factory? -if so go to their website and search for something under help like removel or ad or something like that.

if you cnt find anything on their website, google it!, usually works...

umm .. i have a program sum where i'm trying to find it (at the mo i cnt) but everytime i have had a similar problem (i dnt anymore) but i used to run this program, it's just a couple of hundred kb and it searches for known adware type stuff and looks for an install and everytime i used it, it work perefctly, i'm still trying to find it for you

scanned for trojans on your computer? (trojan guarder gold) highly mega recommended by myself, does its duty above and beyond and you can even have it monitoring your computer every second in the background...

All of the above softwares are good.
Try mcafee anti spyware also. It detects even those which spysweeper fails to pick up. You will have to use more than one softwares.
