Hi,

I turned on my spare computer this morning and it came up saying

Searching for Boot Record From Floppy.........Not Found
Searching for Boot Record From CD-ROM.........Not Found
Searching for Boot Record From SCSI.........Not Found

Boot Failure,
Please instert boot disk and restart.

What do I do? It is running Windows XP btw

Just kidding. Go into the BIOS and check that Hard Disk is somewhere in the boot order. (I usually have my boot order set up as Floppy, CD, then Hard Disk)

Check inside your computer that the hard drive is properly plugged in. Beware of static though - it can destroy computer internals.

Boot up off a floppy, run FDISK and check that it sees the hard disk. If it doesn't, and you're 100% sure it's plugged in properly, you probably either have a corrupt hard drive or a dodgey IDE controller. Try putting the drive on a different controller, or in a different machine.
