My "Access violation at address 004045DC..." Error

Hey i have received an old computer from someone and when it boots and is logged in i receive this error.

I hope someone can help shed some light as to what may be cuasing it!

"Access violation at address 004045DC in module 'ssc_serv.exe'. Read of address FFFFFFF7."

ssc_serv is the mod which launches the Bootstrap .. I think that you have to include a Master Hard Disk to it and try to Format it (Fully /r format) and reinstall system with PC settings files (Hard Files not Windows Settings Files)

So i need to totally reformat my hard drive?

Yes. you have to .. you maybe do better by asking for more advices before removing all your datas !
