I still use a floppy diskette to boot in case of operating system failure, well it sounds funny. I still use a old computer, I have no choice because the usb boot doesn't work and ticking the bios seems odd to do it in old computers

You are not the only one. I know people using windows 98. I am the one who maintain the OS when there's a problem. And it's not something about feeling funny, ashame.

there is nothing wrong about that.some software only runs at win98..if this is the case with you to prevent you from upgrading you can have a dual booth computer by installing 2 OS.

There's nothing bad about that.

Just today I had to update my BIOS and most of the times the instructions from the MB-sites assume you have a floppy drive.
Well I don't, so I had to find a way to make a bootable CD. Luckily for me it worked, was the 1st time I did this from CD.
