hello people,
im thinking about making a DIY projector and have researched up alot about them and they seem to work really well if you buy the right parts and put it together will (despite them normally being on the bigger side of things)
just wondering if anyone else had made one? or had any thoughts or advice
I figured it was to hook up to his computer. What I meant was, is there a particular purpose, other than screen real estate, like running Powerpoint presentations, a smart board, etc.
Maybe for design needs? As far as I know web designers always looking for the big screens.

basically im fed up of sitting at my pc working away at websites i would love to have it projected on my wall and then use my wireless mouse and keyboard to do all my work while sat at the sofa or lying on my bed.... now that would be called work LOL
urrrm i dont got the money to buy a 38 inch tv just yet lol so a homemade projector would be better + its bigger and the bulbs are what $20 if they blow unlike proper projectors which are +$50
No it isn't a DIY or a projector, but it has a sharp, clear image. And I paid it off in 12 months I think. I guess it really boils down to what you want, and what you really need it for.
urrrrm i spose that is good but me finding the spare $99 for twelve months could prove hard seeing as im only 18 with no outside job (only the internet).
i dont think it would have the same satisfaction either of owning a working projector that i have hand built... that is just cool (if it works lol)
afaik. projectors are complicated. you need a real projector and get an lcd screen for the DIY project. i would suggest to save up money. its not that hard to wait. if you can't do some more freelance work online. it should get you the funding you need. GL

okay so far i have got together a light and a cable and started looking for high resolution 15 to 19 inch lcd monitors
then all i need is the lens after that oh and to build the box with a nice fan in it
hopefully get this finished soon as i am starting to get bored with my monitor (still on a crt one)
If you want amazing detail, you're going to have problems with the lens afaik.
Its gonna cost you as much to buy a ready built one.
But if you want a naff picture , DIY on a budget is the way to go i supose. gudluck
