Hi Bizcredit,

I had 2 on board for ages - Registry Mechanic and Registry Fix.
I ran them both at the same time and compared the results.

I found the latter to be more thorough.

I normally do it manually only if I want to remove the trace of some uninstalled program on the registry, but hijackthis is useful.

I agree. It is a mild cleaner with useful tools. Registry cleaners can remove needed entries, what a hassle if this happens! CCleaner is so mild it pulls up entries that you really do not need, it is basically worry free.

its great till version 6, later it was just a set of many software. At last I am my self good to clean my Registry Personally. Soon Create Some app for that.

i woudn't recommend using registry cleaners, as sometimes it can do more harm than clean your registry, i have had issues with this on xp. but i have used Ccleaner and its great.
