How many computers do you have (and what operating systems do you use?)

Not many with Macbooks?

I find them to be overpriced and underspec'd for Leopard -- I'd rather buy a laptop with similar hardware to a MacBook and install OS X on that. Leopard looks at half the price.

Sure, you can create a Hackintosh (and if you Google it, you'll surely find a way to do it), but the legitimate way would be going on a Mac machine.

I'd be more than willing to pay market price for the hardware stuffed inside of a MacBook, but I'm not going to shell out a few hundred extra dollars for a laptop that has half the graphics power of my current one, slower RAM, and a smaller screen just so I can look trendy. I will, however, pay for a legitimate copy of Leopard and be willing to go through the trouble of finding/writing drivers for it since it's actually at a sane price and is a pretty fun OS to run.

Me and my wife own 3 Computers and a laptop. I am a Computer Programmer for my main job, then I run my own online business. Each of my Computers are Custom Built besides my laptop

All My Computers (PC's) have Windows XP Pro on them my Laptop has Vista Home it is a HP DV2000.

technically 3... 4 if you count my husband's.

I have my only working laptop which I use for writing and is a old Pentium 1. USB drives didn't even exist back then. Surprisingly this thing still runs perfectly. Has windows 95 installed, which is ok because it doesn't have internet access.

2nd laptop is my daughter's Pentium 3 with windows XP. It quit working a few months ago and I have it with me to try to get it fixed.

I'm not even sure what this desktop is. I think its a Pentium 4.. was there such a thing? Its put together with hand off parts from when my husband has upgraded his. I used to have a pentium 3 when we married but this is the upgrade from that.

Hubby has something a lot faster. I'm not allowed on it even though I know more about computers than he does.

Our desktops run windows XP.

I'm also a windows hater and plan to switch over to some Linux or mac stuff when I have monies.

I also take hand off parts or laptops from people that don't need them anymore. I'm poor...give me your crap so I can live. ;p

I have 1 pc with XP installed and 1 laptop with Vista installed. I prefer the PC with XP, because the laptop is quite slow and I hate Vista.

Let's see... I have an AMD 64bit desktop I built for for editing video. It uses XP.

I have the old AMD I built for editing video running Win2K pro. It is retired, and used for mostly Duke Nukem and surfing and graphic design.

I also have an IBM Thinkpad with a blown ethernet. It also runs 2kPro, mostly used for playing CDs when I'm away from the PC, because I can't get it online.

A Gateway laptop with dead screen, used to collect dust samples these days, also on 2K Pro.

I built my wife's AMD, also running 2K Pro.

I got my boys an old iMac G3 Blueberry, running OS X. I bought this because it was really cheap, and is just like one of the Macs I learned Graphics on.

If I can ever get a new screen for the Gateway, I am pretty set on turning it into a Steam Punk laptop.

we are a geeked up family...not pro geeks cause of money issues but we do ok lol

we have 6 comps total in the house
my box (built 6 yrs ago from parts up <3), my husbands tower (he built it) that traveled here from the netherlands, each of my so far 2 children have one (my son age 6 had a desktop to play games on and surf free game sites, and my daughter age 14 has a laptop so she can im and game on the go lol), and the media center box (stationed behind our tv) and laptop (for work/travel purposes)... so in total 6 fully built comps/laptops... and we have spare parts from a lot of stuff lol, i have at least 8 hard drives sitting in static bags just in case i can ever fully retreive any stray data that my be left on them lol

I have a Dell b130 laptop I use daily. We also have a hooked up desktop with a huge screen, and my fiance has an IBM laptop. I hate IBM laptops though because they seem so outdated, even the new ones.

Well i personally only have one with Vista Ult - 40Gb (will be 80 when i can be botherd to reinstall) 80Gb, 250Gb and a 80GB external... AND IM COMPLETELY OUT OF SPACE! i want to get 500GB hard drive to add on my last SATA port..
I have a pretty average mother board because of cost

i am running dual screen one 17" TFt and a 15" TFT if i was allowed i would be on tri-screen

and 1.5GB of ram

Mine is completely custom built complete with lots of blue lights

Brother+dad each have a laptop - XP
and mum had a ok pc tower again on XP..

Also have ALOT of mothe rboards and parts in loft.

I have TRIED do many times to have my PC as dual boot with linux but i can never get it to install everytime it comes up with some random library error when i try to install SUSE (i have tried on completely blank machines too!) i have about 10 copies where i re-burnt.. re-downloaded.... still didnt work! ><

Hi,

I have two PC's at home both running XP. I have three at work with 2000,xp and vista installed. I think out of all of them I like XP. It seems to be more stable than Vista and it's still supported.
