So one of my fans broke inside my laptop, so I took it apart and I used another fan from an old laptop to try and replace it. Only the replacement fan’s pin that goes down the middle was bigger than the other one so I broke it off and put gum around it to hold it in place while I then super glued it to make it firm. Am I MacGyver or what?

Well apparently I can’t either… I guess I’ll have to fork out the 82 dollars for the cooling unit.

Sorry Phil! Did you try Ebay or Newegg? You can usually get pretty good deals at one or the other.

Add gum in with bailing wire and duct tape to the quick repair kit.

I'm surprised your laptop is still working.

Well it was one of those… “Well it seemed like a good idea at the time.”

Yeah, right now I have that fan disconnected; and I have the whole unit on rush delivery. I just hated having to buy the whole unit when it was only one fan that was broke.

it sucks.

the world is so stupid when you think about it.

i mean heres a impossible thought.

Imagine if every item which you throw away gets taken catelogued and indexed onto a website.

when every you need a spare part you look it up (and if it was a huge project and was properly done like) the chances are they would have it you could order it someone gets it sticks it in a box and ships, all you pay is packing postage and a bit on top for storage...

i mean think how much it could save! >< both on landfil and polution of having to make brand new parts when there are working ones going to waste...

Dan

I honestly would if i could.

I just need a warehouse and a set-up budget.

But i mean would be so cool to do.

Just the whole storage thing which would be a problem

Maybe when i start making my millions i can afford to do it
