Hi,

I have an Asus laptop, model number M6B00R, will be 3 years old in July. This morning the colors on the screen started acting wierd, blue task bar gone pink, blotches of red everywhere, white backgrounds now light blue. Any idea what would cause this ? Maybe I need a new laptop. Thanks, Mickmac

You'll get these results alot of the time if the cable that connects your display to your motherboard has come a bit loose. How to access this cable is different depending on the laptop, and I'm not to sure about Asus laptops. On a Dell Latitude D model, you pop off the little plastic piece above the keyboard, unscrew 3 small screws that hold the keyboard down, lift the keyboard, and there you will see the cable. On almost any laptop it is going to be a gray "ribbon" cable (flat cable about 2 inches wide). Simply disconnect it from your motherboard and re-attach it.

It's also possible there is a problem with the video card (not likely) or the display itself (certainly possible)

I had a kind of similar problem with a Vaio, it was going light pinkish and light bluish, it turned out to be caused by having wrong display drivers after a recent re installation of windows.
