Hi

I am having a problem installing a firewall (Zone Alarm Pro)

I get this error message that pops up (I have Windows XP)

"Could not locate the DLL library \vsutil.dll (VSetProtection) The specified procedure could not be found"

After researching it I think installing "Registry Repair" software is what I need.

Can anyone give me a recommendation as to what is the best registry fix software?

I've tried downloading trial versions but they hugely different results so I have no idea how to choose. (& you can't fix them till you buy the license)

Registry Fix found 447 errors.
Registry Easy found 1204 errors.

I wouldn't use any type of mass registry 'cleaner' ... they're more likely to create problems than solve them in my opinion.

If it were me, I'd check to see whether the dll file exists on your system, and if it does, register it manually.

I agree with forrest. Installing a registry cleaner for one missing DLL is a bit overboard. I'm also suspicious of anything that tells me I have a million errors that it can fix for me after I give them my money.

Often when you are missing one dll file you will find there is several missing. It is very likely that something went wrong during your ZoneAlarm installation. If it just suddenly did it after you have been using it for awhile it may be compromised. Although you may only be getting the dll error something is wrong. Due to the fact that ZoneAlarm is a firewall and there is no point in having it if it is not running 100% you should definitely uninstall it and reinstall it. If you have downloaded it from somewhere other than the ZoneAlarm site, go to the ZoneAlarm site and only download it from there.

CCleaner has a registry cleaner that is very mild along with some other necessary options. It is freeware. Here is the link:
