Anyone know of a freeware shopping cart that uses mySQL to add products, includes descent shipping settings? I don't want it to be technical at all...Pretty much the simplest mySQL cart available that only has 1 payment available (or where other payment are not shown) which would be to have the customer print out the order form with what they ordered so they could either mail it in to me or fax it in to me.

Thanks

The only thing I know about is http://zen-cart.com, but it's far from 'not technical'. I used it in the past because of the shipping settings options & liked it very much.

Another option is ecrater (http://www.ecrater.com/) - it's free, and I know it's simple. . . but I don't know if it'd be a usable option for you, either as it's not a software, but the shopping cart is on the ecrater website - you have a subdomian - http://yourstoreherewhatever.ecrater.com. It has some benefits, but it might not match your needs.

If you're looking for something really simple, you could hire someone to write it for you. . . though it wouldn't be as cheap as freeware.

Maybe this'll give you some ideas.

Believe it or not, years ago, like 10 or so, these were the only types of 'carts' around...I think they went away with making them these days because fraud.

I used to have one (forgot the name of it, too bad) that was simple but it didn't use sql, I believe it used csv files to import products into it. But it didn't have real-time merchant settings like Paypal, Authorize.net just had options to print out an invoice (at the checkout page) that had the persons name/address/credit card data etc..Another feature which was also available was what I was looking for which is to just have COD, and they would print the invoice and send a check to me. That type of cart should've stayed around because all the new businesses, or one's who don't want to 'chance' diving into the 'big boys' without getting their 'feet wet' first if you know what I mean.

Thanks anyway,
I'll keep google-ing away to see if I find something in the mean time.

Not free but I just went up on Cart32....

Excellent support, reasonable price, completely hosted secure pages. I'm a happy camper and while the price is around $250 a year I'll certainly save that much in admistration cost since they do it and it frees me up to do more productive things.

I suggest www.zen-cart.com which is developed from OSCommerce but has a good supported community.
