Sorry, i don't know where this belongs in. But Im curious to know what your opinions are with the CMS joomla. I have been using it for the past two months, and so far I like it. But im wondering if this is the best bet for developing content websites. It seems really buggy to me. But the amount of component available is pretty nice.

Its a bit difficult to use at times.

Is there a better CMS out there?

Joomla certainly is one of the easier CMS's to use so if you are considering building standard web sites it's probably the way to go. If you want scalability, SEO and more flexibility then I'm a biased TYPO3 user

I left some notes here.

No CMS is going to be bug free, a perfect fit for all needs and all have their strengths and weaknesses. Choosing a CMS really depends on your long term needs.

For example I would not choose TYPO3 if all I was planning to do was blogging, calendar and general content management even though it supports all these features. I'm leaning towards Joomla for a project because it offers integration with an extension I need not available for TYPO3.

It might help to have a look at the various extensions each one offers too.

I've tried many many many CMS programs, and to me the one that far surpasses all is e107. It's extremely easy to use and there are a ton of plugins available. They are also easy to install.

One thing I cannot stand are plugins that require lots of tedious code editing and manual installation. I've changed my CMS probably 5 times in 2 years, and was never completely happy then I found e107.

I dont work for or have any affiliation, I'm just extremely happy with it.

Reasons are the ease of use, ease of install and ease of plugin/installation. For example, if you are completely new, they even have a video walking you through the installation step by step. Not sure of the weblink though.

The only thing that lacks, is again, modding or creating your own template, but again i dont think there's much way around that sort of problem.

I use, the gimp for image editing to do my own, so I keep my costs low.

I tried Joomla a while back but it was a bit tedious to me. I'm not using Drupal, so far so good.

I always write my own. Saves messing about and it does only what it needs to do. 3rd party code is always going to be a security issue so writing your own cuts that out too.

I find Joomla to be too bloated for my needs, but I am sure it's great for resource and content heavy sites. If you want a simple CMS, the best I've found is Website Baker. I had my site up and running in a few short hours, and it has a great support community, themes and plugins!
