This should be easy to figure out, but for some reason it isn't... I have an old mac running a mp3 streaming server. It works well when i go into a mp3 player, and enter the iport and let it rip. However, when i make a link to the iport on an external page, the browser just tries to open it without success... I've seen that most sites using shoutcast or something use a pls file. The stream will start from wherever it is like radio, so I don't need to referance specific files. any idea?

Are you running a shoutcast server? If you want the pls file, you'll have to make a playlist of the mp3's you want played.

Should posted that I figured it out, I just took a pls file from another radio station, looked at it, replaced the server with mine et voila.

For those wondering about it:

I'm using an old os 9 mac (8500) on a t1 to host this. I didn't want to dedicate a more powerful computer to just this. The software is called mp3 streaming server, it isn't actually very goopd, but the machine can't run os x which would enable me to just use shoutcast and get over it.

The pls file just contains a link to your stream and the browser knows what to do with it (namely, give it to itunes, in my case)

is the stream, hopefully it works.
