client-side is the page as seen in the browser

Same as the search you can do by pressing Ctrl+F

or do you want something that searches a database and returns results to the browser

Im trying to make a internal search for my webiste, which searched a group of about 100 pages. I want the results to be shown with a title, a description and a url, similar to googles results. I want to define the title, desctiption and url myself. How can I do all this?

soooo, why do you need a "search" when you are going to define the title, description and the URL yourself ???
That would be called a sitemap!

the idea of a site search is that it finds the pages that match the words entered and show the URL(s) of the page(s) that were found.

Or do you mean that you want to create an independant database of the pages on the site, where you add the URLs and add a title, description and keywords just in the same way you would submit your page to a directory?

Ok, download any directory script in whatever server-side code will run on your site and also use whatever database your host supports then install and customise it.

lock out the submit page so no one else can spam the life out of it and set yourself as the only editor/admin.
