Get Image Dimensions

I need to check the image size of an external URL so that if it is too large in width or height it returns an error.

I'm looking to use PHP for this.

I think there is one using ASP.NET

Has anybosy received an email from Traffic Magnet. They include the thumbnail of the website. How is that done ?
