I have been programming a site recently, mostly just for fun, but I want to hide my source so no code-stealing-monkey can take it from me and use it as their own. How can this be done. I have read that there's some programs you can install in on the server, but I don't want to do that if there's a simple Javascript fix. Thanks in advance.

Just to let you know: If someone wants you code, he will get it.
And that is good. Source is for everyone!!!

Ever looked in your browsers settings whether you deactivate JS or not? I guess not. Please do so.

In order for somebody to view a website, their browser has to be able to read the source, it's impossibile to totally hide your source code, sure you can make it harder for people to view but there's always a way.

And if it's a site you made "mostly just for fun" i don't see the need for hiding the source anyway.

Hi,

This is my first pot.

Yes, it's possible to hide your source codes.
There is software called "Web Page Protector" that does such thing.

http://www.share2s.com/web-encrypt.html is the one the company uses as an example.

One basic problem with their program is that if a visitor has javascript disabled, they don't see anything, 'cause the program's a javascript.

At a quick glance, it looks like the javascript program was coded in ASCII. If that's true, once someone converts the javascript back, they probably wouldn't have any trouble getting access to the site's actual content.
