Hello everyone.

My freebie site needs help! I use SQL databse to store all my sites info, so I can add new content/email/upload/fix errors everything at home,work... this I like... but I found out today (might be out of date news) but there is some kind of function I can add somehow called Mod_rewrite which will take out all the "?" and stuff out of the URLS and make them more "search engine friendly"

Im kinda new'ish to all of this.. so please no laughing

How can I fix my site? does it cost much? where can i obtain this Mod_rewrite.. would it help?

mod_rewrite is an apache module, so firstly it needs to be installed on your server, normally it would be already.

If you have a look at phpinfo() for your site there's a list of installed modules, if it's not listed there you'd need to ask your host to turn it on.

It has loads of uses and works mostly like using regex (for adding bbcode or formatting urls, in news/forum scripts etc)
