Hi, i just added myself to your group in the hope someone could help me with probably a very simple problem(but unfindable).
I am working on my page, and searched for some ways to implement a browse window/iframe/layer etc etc. It should have the possibility to use the mousewheel, and have scroll buttons instead of a scrollbar. So the most i can probably find, but scroll buttons are simply impossible to find. (as in, i am now working with my spare mouse how could something so basic be so impossible to find. i could only find one reasonable in java(but that one didn't allow me to imput links or pictures, or fonts(( so then i found one that worked but scrolled very nervously along the screen.(i think the best would be an up and a down button that can control a iframe window from within the main...but then again, i dont know if the mousewheel can be used in a iframe).
so if you know the answer for my problem, please send me an example. i am really not good in webpage designing. i just started and the easyest way for me to implement this option is to rip it from a page and leave only the nessecary things in.
i really really hope someone can help me and i would be very very thankfull.
greetings geert

Hi rhino,

I'm Ricky. I joined the group just two days ago...

For now the only thing I can say about your issue is that the iframee scrolling works well with the mousewheel (obviously this can depend from mouse settings).

If you can explain to me in more detail what you are searching for I will appreciate. I'm not sure that I have well understood the sentence "some ways to implement a browse window/iframe/layer etc etc. It should have the possibility to use the mousewheel, and have scroll buttons instead of a scrollbar".

I hope that reply can be a little usefull

Best regards,

Ricky.

hi,
thanks for the reply.
i'll try to describe better.
imagine a page with a (frame/layer) square in the middle.
that square should be scrollable by buttons(not by standard scroll bars) (although if i can make the scrolbar bigger, i might be able to color the bar part away and keep the buttons(visual)
so in one sentence, a window that can be scrolled by buttons instead of the scrollbar. something that would be even better is the scroll buttons for the middle frame in the mainframe(controlling the middle frame). But, i searched on almost every help html, and asked almost every friend. no answer came close, so i believe i might be asking for something impossible.
at this moment i stripped a flash window and implemented in in my the site, only problem is that i am a real newb at this, and i couldn't find out how to place links and pictures inside, but for a better impression of what i need take a look at this(the page with the flash window in place)www.geocities.com/rhinofoob/xx.zip
thanks in advance
greetings geert

Hello Rhino,
Now I have better understood what you need.
I suppose that the flash window is a Macromedia Flash maded window and I think that it's the best way to do what you need.

I tried to take a look to www.geocities.com/rhinofoob/xx.zip but it's seem that the page isn't available.

I will try in the next few days.

Best regards,

Riccardo.

hi, i removed the link. my friend came up with this solution, its pretty crude, but probably can be made more nicer:
<SCRIPT language=JavaScript>
function sup()
{
BLAFrame.doScroll("scrollbarPageUp");
}
function sdown()
{
BLAFrame.doScroll("scrollbarPageDown");
}

</SCRIPT>
greetings
