I'm afraid it isn't as simple as that - CSS is supported by most of the browsers that are available out there. Its not really a question of if, its how much support they offer that will be your real bugbear.
Something as simple as the very basic CSS1 attributes should work quite well, even in Netscape 4! However, support is patchy and if you want to do anything complicated while keeping it as browser compatible as possible then the only way to be sure is to test it for yourself.
A good book on CSS should offer some kind of compatibility table, however this sort of information tends to age quickly and so the most up to date information is always online. Having said that, I do like a paper copy of a style sheet reference to hand... and here are two books I've reviewed that contain style sheet information...

One online reference on CSS you might find of interest is - http://www.webreview.com/style/css1/...stergrid.shtml - but having looked at it it looks like it is no longer maintained as IE6 isn't listed on it!
