Hi All,

I need help with a formula in excel.

I have 2 worksheets. At the top of each column is a persons name and under each name there is dates. There is a bout 10 columns like this on each sheet.

I need a formula which will dispaly on a third sheet that shows:
The last 5 dates
Hows name that date is under.

For example:
Last 5 dates
Joe Blogs - 15/2/05
Joanne Blogs - 13/2/05
Barry Blogs - 11/2/05
Frank Blogs - 10/2/05
Sarah Blogs - 8/1/05

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Have you tried using the MAX() formula? I'm not sure if it works on dates, but it seems prudent that it would.

This is kind of a late delay, but you can use the "LARGE" function.

In your results worksheet, you might have:

cell A1: =LARGE(theRangeOfNumbers,1) to get the highest date
cell A2: =LARGE(theRangeOfNumbers,2) to get the second-highest date

The rangeOfNumbers is the range that you highlight which contains all of the dates.

etc...etc...
