I hope this is in the right area for this question. I am wanting to setup a banner ad for a website I created. My question is:
Is it possibly to use a .jpeg or a .jpg stored on my computer for a grafic for the banner ad? if so how?

Also how is it possible to "code" a site to work in a variety of webbrowsers (i.e. Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.)

Thanks
Toby

Hey Toby,

If the banner is already done and saved as a jpeg/jpg, then it can be used for an ad after it's been uploaded to a host. To use on a website, save/upload on a host somewhere with internet access.

Your banner can be saved/uploaded on your host. Or, it could be saved on another host. For example, the banner located at the top of this page is "stored" on another host other than the Webmaster-Talk Forum.

Without uploading the jpeg/jpg, it will not have a url which is needed for others to view. (Not referring to file sharing between pc's.)

About the coding for various web browsers, I'm sure there are several people that can answer that question better than me, and someone might even have a link to an article about that.
