i wouldnt waste my time checking to see of webmasters have kept their links up

in the time it takes you to do that you could have emailed another few websites about link trades

what fonz says is in one way good and acceptable.

but there are times when you would want to check whether it is there or not. (depending on what kinda site it is)..

that time these kinda of scripts are useful.

Yeah it might be a waste of time but i am not going to generate traffic to someone elses website if they do not want to link back to mine.

i wouldnt look at it that way

someone looking for that other website could come across your site on a search engine because the sites url is listed on your site - i got loads of hits this way on my old shopping site

i disagree with hgf,

u will exchange links with some one ONLY when they put urs intheir site.

and that is a costless advertising for your right.

as fonz said, ur initial visitors will be from links like these only..
