Yes, you can do this. All you need to do is to place another <table> tag inside your cell e.g.

<tr><td>
<table>
etc.
</table>
</td>
</tr>

All you need to do is to remember to close all the tags in the right order.

Yes it is very possible. I do it all the time.

Here is one example of a code I use so often I have set it up in notepad to copy and paste. I change the background colors/images and sometimes the width etc.

Start your text here ...
Put whatever you want to have ... images, text, etc.
At the end of your page, finish it off with:

</TD></TR></TABLE></CENTER>
<BR><BR>

</TD></TR></TABLE></CENTER>

Also if I opt to use a bgcolor then I remove the background tag and vice versa.

Why not? You can make for some interesting designs/layouts with nested tables for one thing.

For the other thing sometimes it just lines up better how you want it to if they are nested within an outer table.

it helps alignment and is the basis for making great websites

yea, ive used tables within tables before, but I actually prefer not to, now im working on this clan site which should be up soon...I think I made it with nested tables.
