Flash/ActionScript Coding Help Needed!

I'm currently in the making of a medieval flash game that's multiplayered and in which other users can view and chat with each other. I also want it to have an open chat and interactive landscape.

I have seen other flash games and tutorials, but I am not sure how to produce such a game in ActionScript or Flash.
I was wondering if anybody here could either give me tips, or actually help make the coding.

I don't think Flash would be the best solution. I think Java could be used to create games, however i'm not 100% sure.

What I do know is that "Flash Games" could be easily abused, by observing the changing of variables, in high scores and such.

I'm not going to help you make the job [no time] but I can tell you to use loadVars and PHP to create the chat. You need a coder because this is not to simple... you must know a lot

Ah, well, I used to be a skilled programmer with JavaScript, but a failiure at raw Java. I can do some coding, I guess, but for some reason, nothing with Java coding will open on my page---all it does it close my entire internet browser.

you can make an applet... with java but, it's not "so web-based" like flash is

your decision.. anyway, for free you cannot find someone to help, cause you'll need some time to work there

Use ActionScript 3.0 with Flash Interactive Media Server 3 (FMS3).

FMS3 allows you to do multi-user socket communications... it's a very powerful enterprise solution that would be very capable of handling a Flash-based MMORPG.

If you're on a budget, look into Red5 or Wowza Media Server.

Well then, if it is not so hard, then I may change back to Flash state of mind. Because I looked up Java and it is hard.

From what I hear, ActionScript is quite similar to JavaScript. It'll be a big project, but you should be able to catch on.

I don't want to disappoint but some elements are not the same... window.open doesn't exist in Flash and gotoAndStop() doesn't exist in javascript... A big project will need a lot of work but, with a manual and some time, you can do it
