I'm a webmaster but i never really took a course, i know html, javascript, dhtml, flash, a little bit of php,

i need someone to be a friend and teach me a few things, and a little more on php, Do any of you have the patience to do this for me?????

Anyway what i want to know is stuff like,

How: When you register, u get an e-mail, u press link, and your account is activated! How is that programmed??????

How: To get that upload script to work? You know the button that says "upload" and u browse and upload the file to server(PHP)

stuff like that... please help!!!

First, I'd like to welcome you to the forums!

The different things that you are interested in doing actually requires some work not only with PHP but also MySQL. The webmasters of any sites that have those features may not even know how to program it at all. If you are truly interested in implementing such a feature on your website, then I recommend you get a script at www.hotscripts.com, as most of the scripts there have gone under extensive testing. Most of the time, when the average webmaster tries to code one of the above scripts, it ends up with major security holes, but if you get a script done by professional programmers, it is more likely to be secure and safe. However, if you are only curious (rather than serious about actually implementing such a feature on your site), then I'm sure some of the members on these forums can help you out. I, myself, am not too great with PHP.

id personally reccomend getting a book

theres some great tutorials sites out there but there are a little too scrappy in that they miss out important elements - tell you stuff you already know and miss out stuff you dont and assuming you do know it

im going to get a php book in a few days - i usually order stuff from the net but its better to get a flick through a programming book first to see whats its like

yea i have a php book but see..

it tells about how to upload with php, and i did everything it said but it doesn't upload it just gives me a blank page, (i did all the browsing and stuff)

also i can't figure out mysql, i installed it, (i have XP) but it gave me errors, and wouldn't open (i hate DOS programs)

and i have a few other questions, i really don't know how to make forms on FLASH, and u know how it says "getURL" ok i put in www.designingonweb.com/blablabla.html , and the flash is located in, www.cjb.net/blabla/bla/index.htm, aNy way, when i click on the button i made this is where it goes:

when on your links, webmaster098, it just takes me to the CJB homepage. Unless you created CJB.net then your URL shouldnt be http://www.cjb.net/blabla/bla/index.html it should probably be http://www.blabla.cjb.net/bla/index.html .
