Hey
Lately I've been trying out blogger and found that its quite useful.
I was thinking of making a few blogs about everything, however i dont konw if it would be worth spending alot of time on it.
What are your blogs?
How much visitors do you get?
How much do you make from adsense?
Here is my first blog:
http://www.123adsense.blogspot.com/
Yeah, not all that great but I intend on makin some good ones soon.
Thanks
Sam

If you have something worthwhile to say and talk about then yes it is worthwhile - blogging is about sharing and discussing your ideas with others around the world.
If, on the other hand, you are just making a blog to make money and nothing else then I feel sorry for you.
Do it becasue you love it!

I wouldnt mind making a blog bat the worry is weather ill spend my whole life on it and still not earn a cent.
From what i see blogging looks fun and has a nice financial reward if you get a good blog.
Some extra cash would also be handy for some other projects aswell.
One blog that i was considering making was one of photoshop tutorials. I was thinking this would make it easy to get visits because of tutorial sites like www.good-tutorials.com and www.pixel2life.com. The only problem is that i dont know if they accept tutorials from blogs.

What are your blogs?: http://www.techwench.com
How much visitors do you get?: roughly 500-800 uniques visitors per day
How much do you make from adsense?: not as much as you would think.
Is blooging worth it?
It depends on what you want to accomplish with your blog. If you want to make (substantial) money off of your blog, then it *will* take a lot of time and effort. Not only will you have to generate traffic to your site, but you'll have to have a darn good topic to keep people interested in coming back.
The "blogosphere" (not a term I regularly use, but everyone else seems to, so I might as well use it here) is an odd beast, to say the least. People get bored, easily. People get annoyed easily. People will judge you without taking 30 seconds to read the first paragraph of your latest blog, if you don't have something that they want.
It took me over 3 years to get my blog to where it is now (pr 6, lots of traffic from people looking for free stuff to leech off of me...oh, sorry, getting carried away...).
But I have made some wonderful friends through blogging, along with a new business partner, and a better-than-I-was-before-all-by-my-lonesome design business.
So, really, it all comes down to what you want from your blog, and how long you're willing to work with your blog to make it happen.

I agree completely with techwench. My own blog is relatively new (about 6 months) so not nearly the same number of uniques and I'm sure even less money.
And it really does depend on what you want to accomplish with it. You can certainly make money with a blog or blogs just as you can with any website, but it's not any kind of get rich quick thing. It will take a considerable amount of work and time on your part. Most bloggers probably aren't making much though there are some making a living off nothing other than blogging.
While I would like to directly make money with my blog as it hopefully grows and ages it's not the only reason I'll blog. Much of the reason is I simply enjoy writing and passing on a few things I've managed to learn over the years (at least I hope anyone reading is learning).
I also see it as a way to promote myself and my skills which I hope will bring in more clients to my business. In time I hope to be able to connect and network with other bloggers in my industry and maybe even land some freelance writing gigs along the way.
The idea of meeting some new friends or business associates through blogging is also appealing.
A nice benefit of my blog has been that some of my posts rank well in Google and the blog brings in a fair amount of search traffic each day. Nothing spectacular mind you, but it's increasing every month. And all I needed to do to get the rank was to write something focused on a particular topic.
If you want to blog start out because there's something you really want to write about and take it from there. There are plenty of benefits to having a blog, but you really need to keep up with it and be able to post regularly if you want it to succeed. There's nothing magic about a blog in terms of generating an income. At the core a blog is just a specific type of website. They can be fun and they can be a lot of work.

I have only started blogging about a month , I like it though, It's pretty easy to use blogger and that way it doesn't matter if it completely fails.
I started GoogTube about 3 weeks ago and its getting around 2000 unique visitors a day now. It's pretty easy to maintain and doesn't require much writing because i post mainly youtube videos.
I also started an SEO Blog about a week ago, This is only getting about 20 uniques a day so far, And these are mainly because of a link i put in emails that are sent by my directry when sites are submitted.

Blogging is certainly worth it if you know what you are doing..I tried blogging for a while..it was a total disaster. Everday i spend like 5 hours on it and the unique visitorss i had for that month was 9..and something tells me they are all my friends!!

Hey, ive reciently started a photoshop tut blog. It's all going great and i'm getting about 1,000 visits every day.
This is the first tutorial i wrote for the blog.
http://ps-tutz.blogspot.com/2006/06/...w-text_20.html
I submitted it on a few tutorial sites and its got 2 "goods" from good tutorials already.
Adsense dosn't do all that good, about 30 - 40 clicks and only a few dollars. lol
Blogging is really a great idea, its a shame i didn't discover it sooner.

I don't know if there's an easy answer to what makes a good blog. What makes a good website in general?
I'd say you want to have some good content that keeps people coming back to read more. You also want to post enough so they will come back. You'll also need to do the usual seo work to attract people there in the first place, have a good design, etc.
Anything that makes a quality site in general also applies to a blog. Mostly though it will probably come down to having interesting content that people want to read.

Check out http://www.wisdump.com Schivs usually has some good business advice on how to get a blog going that's worth money. That's what he does for a "living". Also check out http://www.9rules.com this is a membership site that gives it's members a lot of advertising. I think they just finished another round of appliciations for membership so you'll have to wait to apply, but it's got alot of good benefits, imo.
