I use blogger and I'm very satisfied with it. I love how easy it is to customize a template, I love how easy it is to monetize it by clicking one button and your adsense blocks are blended into your template. I just noticed that they have added YouTube videos as a widget and I think that PWA integration is next. I don't have to worry about hosting fees or bandwidth because it's all free.
It's a french software but they have a small part of their site dedicated to english speaking users and the software is completely bilingual.

I think the concept of plugins and extensions is a great one. You get the core application and then can customize it fit your needs instead of what someone else thinks you might want.
The plug-in concept is great but there is a big weakness. It's developed by third party devlopers and sometimes the security is not that good. We saw that with several CMS some people got their site hacked because of a third party plug-in or extension. This is my only concern.

To be honest I just started blogging recently and I decided to use word press. I did some research and it turns out to be one of the most reliable blogging systems for free on the market. I add a theme easily and I can modify the templates without knowing any coding so this was great for me. The installation was so easy that I couldn't say no I started a blog for my sigsell site and it's running really nice and smooth for the time being. So far no problems so I promote and suggest the usage of wordpress for sure.
I use wordpress on the 2 blogs I run. Never tried anything else, so I cannot say it;s the best. it's very good, that would explain why I wasn't interested in anythingn else
