I am just interested in learning how people promote their blog? What methods do you use to get the word out about your blog?

there was a time when I still did much of promotion for my site like social bookmarking new posts, but lately, since I have a small community through blog comments, I don't advertise it that much as I receive a pretty neat amount of traffic that converts.

Post your blog on twitter, facebook and other social networking sites and bookmarking sites.

Great tips. If you do all this *and* the blog has great content in it, the traffic will come. Keep posting regurarly and publish valuable content to your readers. Try to "activate" the readers by asking for blog comments, or just write clear "opinion post" which can raise controversy and debate, and maybe earn a backlink or two if you good.

The ways that I promote my blog are through social networking sites, forum interaction, and directory submissions. I also make it a habit to update the content just so it gets crawled and index more.

First of all good and interesting contents in your blog surely catches the minds of your readers and hence they come back again and again to get updated with all the latest news and stories you have in your blog and for that you don't need any sort of promotion.But if you are really thinking about promoting your blog then I must say Social Bookmarking and Do-Follow blog commenting would be the best.You can also try to share your blog links in Social Networking sites with lots of your friends and I think that would do.
