Apart from promoting your blog externally, you can also interact with your readers. Ask questions, provide answers and be sure to get their feedback so that you have an idea of what they expect to read on your blog.

I would submit to you that giving people what they want is king! make your content relevant, then comment on related blog, don't just post but be friendly and comment wisely.

The same method which are used to promote a website. There is no such difference in promoting a website.

I simply link to related site. Thats it. I've made it rank my health video site in a competitive KWs in a matter of a month by strictly linking to related sites only. Its a little bit hard but really worth it.

Try to find out some dofollow blogs and pass comments on it. You will get some backlinks from dofollow blogs.

You should also post thing that will get readers attention that would let them interact with your blog through a healthy discussion on the post's comment...

Youtube is a great way to promote your blog! I never got any steady traffic until I started to promote my blog through videos.

i think follow step is useful for you:
1.join a similar circle in which they have their blog made in same progrem.then exchange link with them whose PR is higher than you ,at first,it is hard...
2.suffering internet and looking for famour or hot website which has forum ,then share your opinions ,of course ,dont forget to leave your website link.
3.ask for professional generalize tools to help you,that's expensive if you indeed want to continual to spread it.

Rather than make 10 so-so posts every day, I make 3-5 really good ones. If you want to increase exposure, the 10 so-so ones will help in the short term, but in the long run 3-5 good ones will grow the subscriber base more.

Posting in your blog doesn't mean that you stop there. One way of promoting it is to write another article with the same keyword and submit to article directories. These can be spread all over and will rank well in Google so your blog can have a chance of being read.

Content is the golden rule and I will just stick to that.

Yeah, unique content is something that I find works for me. Eventually my sites posts get listed on Google and I get traffic that way.
