I havejust started a new blog - 7 days ago

I have no traffic, any body give me some ideas ?

1) Ask the blog fairy to grant you visitors
2) Post funny/interesting/though provoking/touchy/heart warming stories/thoughts/debates/opinions ect...
3) Give us a link in your forum and post on other forums saying that you have a new blog up.
4) Stay mature in your posts, but at the same time make the user want to return
5) Be your self and have fun.

6. Be Patient - normally it really takes long before your blog can get the massive exposure.
7. Give them reason to follow your blog - this is great content, if you have great content then people are gonna likely to come back
8. Social Media - Try signing up to blogcatalog account and promote your blog into groups and some discussions.
9. Forum Marketing

one of the BEST ways I've found to get visitors is to get involved in forums related to your blog's topic. Don't be too forceful about promoting your blog, but place a link to it in your signature and maybe mention an article or two that you've done on certain topics. That will draw visitors, and the great thing is that people will continue to find links like these months after you make the posts. Of course make sure you're not spammy on the forums or you will give your blog a bad reputation.

You have just started a new blog and you already wanted to have traffic? hehe

Be patient. Optimizing your blog requires time. I think this will help you regarding your concern.

Try making a twitter account and advertise it on there and add feedburner if you havnt already.

You can also do some social bookmarkings. It will give your blog traffic. Here's a list of social bookmarking sites. Hope it helps.

By the way, I think you should format your signature this way...

note: change the "<" and ">" signs to "[" and "]" respectively to make the BB codes right.

you can also make use of forums like this one to get other member's opinions and suggestions for your blog.. it could be about seo, the design or the content... whenever I have a blog, I would ask other members from different forums on what they think about it and on how I can improve it... just make sure that you post it in the right category... by doing this, you will not only get visitors but you will also get great advices on how to increase your sites performance.

-Send articles to another blog

You need to write unique content for the blog, submit to social bookmaking site and write good article for the blog

Write interesting content.
Comment on other blogs that are similar to yours, but do not spam them.
They will come, just be patient.

My suggestions are always update your content and give something useful for your visitor.

Rome is not build in a day!
You will need time to build up good traffic. Work on your blog to provide good unique interesting content and promote your blog. If you don't promote, nobody will know that your site even exist in cyberspace.

My blog is almost 2 month's old but do to my lack of free time cause of some family issue's i have not had time to write long quality articles, submit to quality web directories to try and build up solid quality long term backlink's.

I don't believe in link exchanging with other sites but sometimes i'll do one or 2 link exchanges if the site is related to what my blog is about. The main thing is keep checking to make sure the sites you link exchanged with keep your link on there site. Link exchange with honest people if you can find them.

Since my time online will slowly be increasing again, there are more things i will be doing to get traffic to my blog. The key thing is patience. Over night success with 200 unque hits a day does not happen. Keep updating your blog daily or every other day with fresh content so the search engines beging to stop by more to index content.

The biggest thing is quality posts + time.

With a 7 day old blog, you won't get much traffic, but just be patient. It takes time to build both in content and reputation. Other than that, always promote your blog with the tips listed by others above, and soon you'll be more repeat visitors, and others referring to you. (Its a very exponential process)

Traffic problem? But you do have great content right? And so digg your blog and someone may stumbleupon and reddit. After this you may find out that your blog ranked like squidoo lenses. If that will happen, you can treat your self magnolia sweets that are so very delicious. And hey, don't forget to multiply your blog.

In short, do the wonders of social bookmarking. =)
