I have a 404 notifier plugin on WP and I've noticed that lately it's been getting hammered with odd requests such as:
/2005/04/(wbr)10/upcoming-events/trackback
(replace the parenthesis with brackets, don't know how code works in posts here.) That little tag (java?) snip is inserted in the same place for many different URLs, mostly, but not always, for trackbacks. The logs show different IPs, but no referrers. User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) Anyone know why these visits are occurring or what they're looking for?
