i heard a lot on wordpress, since i am new to blogging and this online world, i can't say much, but having only a blogger account but soon if i have some funds i will also purchase my own domain and a simple host.

For me too, none other than Word Press!

Wordpress hosted on your own site not theirs, simply rocks and is so easy to customise and develop..

I also choose Wordpress. It's better to use if you want to have your own domain for your blog.

I use Blogger.

I started blogging using it and now I'm too lazy to switch.

I already used blogger and wordpress and both of them are good and easy to use, but I preferred either of two.

I'd say WordPress. I'd also discourage against Blogger because you don't own your domain and it looks less professional than having one.

I would also recommend using WordPress. It's a great development platform in addition to being an awesome blogging tool. Because of the hooks that are included in WordPress, you can easily customize it to your needs through plugins.

I highly recommend WP over any other blogging software out there. It is what I use and all my friends and clients use.

I have discussed it here last year. It seems that the self hosted wordpress are powerful enough for most bloggers. With the ability to add plugins into it and do a lot of things that others are unable to.
One simple example is SEO plugin. In WordPress, there is a All-In-One-SEO-Pack that you can install and use it for SEO purposes. But in blogspot, can't really find something that's good enough.
Next is the control over the content of your blog. In blogspot, your content are all "owned" by Google where they can close your blog when they spot anything fishy. Once it closes, there goes all your effort....

I use a wordpress blog hosted on my own domain, works perfectly.
